BOSTON — This is an official press release from the U.S. Department of Justice (USAO - Massachusetts), published as received.

BOSTON – A Dominican man unlawfully residing in Lynn was indicted by a federal grand jury for unlawfully reentering the United States after deportation.

Cesar Fernando Guerrero-Casado, 41, was indicted for illegally reentering the United States after deportation. The defendant is currently detained in state custody on unrelated charges and appeared in federal court on Nov. 2, 2026.

According to the indictment, Guerrero-Casado was previously removed from the United States on Feb. 24, 2015. It is alleged that sometime after his February 2015 removal, Guerrero-Casado illegally reentered the United States without permission.

Guerrero-Casado was previously convicted of unlawful reentry in 2014. He is currently serving state prison sentences for drug offenses.

The charge of unlawful reentry of a deported alien provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000. The defendant is subject to deportation upon completion of any sentence imposed. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes which govern the determination of a sentence in a criminal case.

United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and David T. Wesling, Acting Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston made the announcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Catherine Conroy of the Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.

The details contained in the charging document are allegations. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in the court of law.
