HARRISBURG — This is an official press release from the U.S. Department of Justice (USAO - Pennsylvania, Middle), published as received.
HARRISBURG - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Tyreese Nealy, age 27, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on October 22, 2026, to 60 months’ imprisonment by United States District Judge Keli M. Neary for distribution of methamphetamine.
According to United States Attorney Brian D. Miller, Nealy was sentenced for his role in the drug trafficking and firearms trafficking conspiracy that was the subject of an undercover investigation conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. During the investigation, undercover officers purchased over three kilograms of methamphetamine, 1,600 fentanyl pills and seven firearms from the conspirators. As a part of the investigation of the conspiracy, Nealy sold to an undercover investigator 171 grams of methamphetamine.
At sentencing, Judge Neary noted the seriousness of the crime and impact that drug trafficking has had on the Harrisburg community. The judge also recognized that Nealy lacked a significant criminal history and imposed the mandatory minimum punishment of 60 months.
Co-defendants Devonte Betts, Lamar Waters, and Rodney McMillian entered guilty pleas to drug trafficking offenses. McMillian was sentenced on October 1, 2026, to 188 months in prison. The other two co-defendants are pending sentencing.
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Michael A. Consiglio prosecuted the case.
Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is the Department of Justice’s nationwide initiative that brings federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement, prosecutors, and other public safety partners together to coordinate efforts to combat violent crime and make communities safe. Coordinated by U.S. Attorneys’ offices in each of the 94 federal districts, PSN is tailored to particular communities to strategically address specific violent crime and public safety challenges. As a key component of Operation Take Back America, PSN serves a central role in the Department’s commitment to make our country safe. PSN emphasizes three core principles: rapid federal response to violent crime and criminal offenders; strong, strategic partnerships among law enforcement at all levels; and accountability and deterrence through the prosecution of the most serious, readily provable offenses and other strategies. These efforts complement and strengthen President Trump’s Homeland Security Task Forces, ensuring a comprehensive federal response to the most pressing public safety issues facing communities.
