LAS VEGAS — This is an official press release from the U.S. Department of Justice (USAO - Nevada), published as received.

LAS VEGAS – An alien was charged today for illegally voting in a federal election in Nevada.

“Let me be absolutely clear: if you are a noncitizen and you cast a ballot in our elections, you are committing a federal crime,” said Sigal Chattah, First Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Nevada. “We will not hesitate to use the full weight of federal law enforcement to investigate, indict, and prosecute anyone who attempts to compromise the integrity of our elections. I commend our partners at FBI and HSI for their diligence, assistance and unwavering commitment to ensuring our elections remain fair and free from unlawful interference.”

“Protecting the integrity of the electoral process is essential to maintaining public confidence in our democratic institutions,” said Erin Burke, Special Agent in Charge for HSI Los Angeles. “HSI will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to investigate allegations of violations of federal election laws and hold individuals accountable through the judicial process.”

“Safeguarding the integrity of our elections for American citizens stands as a paramount mission for the FBI,” said Special Agent in Charge Christopher S. Delzotto for the FBI Las Vegas Office. “The FBI will aggressively deploy every resource at our disposal to investigate any credible claim of voter fraud or illegal voting. Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity—Justice will find you.”

According to information in the criminal information, on or about November 2, 2024, Jullie Ann Sumalinog Moore voted in an election held in part for the purpose of electing a candidate for the office of President, Vice President, Member of the Senate, and Member of the House of Representatives.

Moore is charged with one count of voting by an alien. The maximum statutory penalty is one year of imprisonment, a fine of up to $100,000, or both. An initial appearance date has not yet been scheduled.

The FBI and HSI investigated this case.
