LEXINGTON, KY. — This is an official press release from the U.S. Department of Justice (USAO - Kentucky, Eastern), published as received.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – A Frankfort, Ky., man, Zachery Ashburn, 33, was sentenced today to 15 years of imprisonment by U.S. District Judge Robert Wier for possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

On February 23, 2025, during a traffic stop in Scott County, Ashburn possessed approximately four pounds of methamphetamine and four firearms. The methamphetamine was packaged in two separate vacuum-sealed packages that he admitted that he intended to distribute to others. Additionally, Ashburn possessed the firearms to provide protection while he was transporting the methamphetamine.

Jason Parman, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Olivia Olson, Special Agent in Charge, FBI, Louisville Field Office; and Chief Darin Allgood, Georgetown Police Department, jointly announced the sentence.
