This is an official press release from the U.S. Department of Justice (USAO - Nebraska), published as received.
United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced that Ramon Gaytan, 36, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced on October 15, 2026, in federal court in Lincoln for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine actual and 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine. United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis sentenced Gaytan to 165 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After Gaytan’s release from prison, he will begin a 5-year term of supervised release.
Gaytan was a member of a conspiracy, along with co-defendants Angel Gaines and Peter Jacobsson, to sell methamphetamine in the Lincoln and Omaha areas between February 2022 and March 2025. During that time, Gaytan was a major source of the drug. Over the course of the conspiracy, the group distributed and possessed with intent to distribute at least 25 kilograms of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine.
In September 2024, law enforcement made three controlled purchases on three different dates from co-defendant Jacobsson totaling 150 grams of methamphetamine actual. United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis sentenced Jacobsson on July 9, 2026, to 244 months’ imprisonment and a 10-year term of supervised release.
Gaines pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and is scheduled for sentencing on December 3, 2026, before United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis.
“Methamphetamine distribution is stealing the futures of too many Nebraskans and undermining the safety of its communities,” said United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods. “The Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force is to be commended for the outcome of this investigation.”
This case was investigated by the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force.
